Mud Gas Separator is also called Poor Boy Degasser. The function of mud gas separator is removing waste gas in the drilling mud. When drilling, the drilling mud was taken back to the ground, and it is full of bubbles. So the drilling mud with bubbles need first go into the mud gas separator, and in it the bubbles will crash to the plate in mud gas separator. Then in the crashing process, the bubbles were broken out and the gas was discharged through vent line and burn by flare ignition devices. The drilling mud without gas was go into drilling mud solids control system to reuse.
